Workshop

Workshop Guide

A step-by-step guide to creating intentional presentations using The Deadline Kit. Follow along during the talk or complete at your own pace.

What You'll Create

5-slide presentation on your assigned theme, applying the 4 design principles: Hierarchy, Contrast, Space, and Rhythm.

Time: 10 minutes (deadline simulation)
Tools: Figma (free account)
Skill level: No design experience needed

Before You Start

Bring your laptop with stable internet

Create a Figma account (or sign in)

Have the workshop file link ready

Optional: Review The Deadline Kit PDF

01

Access Figma

Set up your Figma account and access the workshop file where everything you need is prepared.

02

Set Up Your Canvas

Before creating content, set up the invisible structure that will make everything align beautifully.

03

Build Your Slides

Now the fun part: creating your 5 slides. Each slide has a specific purpose — follow the structure in your theme brief.

Remember the 4 Principles:

As you build, constantly ask:
• HIERARCHY: What should they see first?
• CONTRAST: Can they read it?
• SPACE: Does it breathe?
• RHYTHM: Is there a pattern?

04

Apply the Principles

You've built your 5 slides. Now check each one against the 4 principles to ensure they're working together.

05

Refine & Present

Final touches before presenting. Polish, practice, and get ready to share your work.

After the Workshop

Congratulations! You created 5 slides in 10 minutes using the 4 principles. Here's what to do next:
